“The National Export Initiative and Jobs”
David Ickert, V.P. Finance, Air Tractor
David Ickert is the Vice President of Finance with, Air
Tractor, a rapidly growing manufacturer of agricultural and forestry
airplanes. The company employs 200 people and has been in business since
1972, having produced and sold more than 2,600 airplanes. Air Tractor’s
planes are sold to countries around the world, thus the need for the
company to maintain exceptional exporting practices.
David is very involved in several professional groups
that deal with the exporting side of the business. Some of these are:
Small Business Exporters Association (SBEA) - board member and former
Chair; National Small Business Association (NSBA) - board member and
Vice Chair of Advocacy, previous chair of Economic Development
committee; speaker – programs for Bankers’ Association for Foreign Trade
(BAFT); Finance, Credit and International Business (FCIB); Export-Import
Bank Annual meeting; Export-Import Bank’s “Export Live” session in
Houston and Detroit and National District Export Council Meeting; Member
2001 through 2003 – Export-Import Bank of the United States Advisory
Committee; and member of Advisory/Community Board – Wells Fargo Bank –
Wichita Falls, TX (2006-Present).
David also participated in President Obama’s Job Summit
in Washington and will share some his experiences from that trip with
us.
David is married to Marilynn and has 3 children and 3
grandchildren. He is very involved in his community of Olney Texas and
is on the School Board and also Board Member of Texas Association of
School Boards for Region 9 of the state. He is an Administrative Board
Member of his church, past president of the Little League Baseball
Association and Industrial Development Board of Olney. Also he is a
former board member of Young County Appraisal District and current
member of Region 9 P-16 Council.
